Meet The Chef

Bom Dia!

 

If you cannot tell, I am from Brazil. To be precise, Olinda, which is a little historic city in the Northeast. It is there that my mother and grandmother showed me that food was all around us – from the fresh fish in the ocean to the tropical fruits and root vegetables outside our door. In fact, my affinity for climbing trees made me a connoisseur of guava until I fell a few times too many.

 

When we moved to São Paulo, I was suddenly introduced to global culinary styles paired with native Brazilian ingredients. Here an entirely new and rich adventure in food sparked my imagination and creativity.

 

For me, the desire to create came with a need to explore, so at nineteen I moved to Washington D.C. with a longing to learn. With so many different cultures in D.C. it seemed like the perfect place to experiment.  A few years later, it was time to explore again, so I headed out west to San Francisco where I fell in love with the freshness of Modern California Cuisine.

 

After traveling the world, I found myself cooking for a variety of Embassies and dignitaries as well as experiencing the grueling lifestyle of a 3 Michelin Star restaurant in New York City. 

 

As is the case with many Chefs, my travel experiences, training and background has resulted in creating my own signature style. The blend of my background and other cultures mixed with French culinary training has made me focus on fresh ingredients, unique elevated flavors, but with a down home approachable sensibility. 

 

That’s why at Dani’s Kitchenette our goal is to bring those flavors to life for you, your friends and family, but make it fun, easy and feel like home.
